Job Description

You draw the first outline of a project, from researching and acquiring land through to designing the financial model. It starts with reading the context of a neighbourhood and its demand, and asking what building this piece of land actually needs. Once the acquisition decision is made, the same person stays with the project through completion and operation.

A Typical Day

Mornings are for site surveys and discussions with landowners and local authorities. Afternoons are for updating the financial model and internal planning meetings. Once a week you stop by the site of a project you are working on.

Team

Development Planning, 12 people. Each project is run by two to four of us.

Requirements

Must-Have Requirements

Hands-on experience in business planning or land acquisition at a developer, general contractor or architecture practice. Licensed real estate transaction specialist.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience on redevelopment projects. Redevelopment planner qualification. Experience building financial models.

Hours: 9:30–18:30 (flexitime, core hours 11:00–15:00) Holidays: Two days off per week (Sat, Sun, public holidays), New Year period, paid leave (92% taken) Benefits: Full social insurance, qualification support (exam and course fees fully covered for architect, real estate and redevelopment planner licences), travel to and from site without coming into the office
