My Work

I manage the progress of a project as a whole, from land acquisition to completion. My role is to balance programme, cost and quality, and to get everyone involved pointing the same way.

Why I Like This Work

What you spend time on stays, in solid form. Seeing a stranger walk past a building I worked on as if it had always been there is when I am glad I kept going.

How I’ve Changed

I have got into the habit of reading ahead. Rather than moving once a problem appears, I plan on the assumption that it will, and sites have become remarkably quiet as a result.

What’s Next

I want to build a system where younger colleagues get to make decisions early. What was done for me, I would like to pass to the next generation.
