Operations Planning
Not filling vacancies. Making the face of a neighbourhood.

Joined as a graduate. Responsible for retail leasing and building operation.

My Work
I handle leasing for retail tenants and the operation of buildings once they open. The work is deciding which shop goes where, and settling terms with the companies taking the space.
Why I Like This Work
You can feel that you are making the face of a neighbourhood. Change the mix of tenants and the people walking there change too. The results of your decisions show up in the streetscape.
How I’ve Changed
I have learned to try to understand the other side's business. Presenting terms is not enough to close anything. Once I could think from the perspective of the company taking the space, conversations started to land.
What’s Next
I want to be more involved in operation after opening. Not finishing at completion, but planning with the view of someone who grows a place.
